Dude, I'm still just thrilled to have a PS2 that's in good health. Forget the XBox360 or PS3. It's just not worth the pain and the penny.

For the longest time (oh until sometime around 2003), the only gaming console I had was a Sega Genesis. That I got when I was 8. So now as I look at my television that trails wires to the PS2, the xbox 360 that isn't really mine but resides in my home, the Nintendo Wii, the still-working Sega Genesis, I really don't know what to think. I haven't found enough games I like to justify investing in a PS3, so I think the orgy of electronics I have now will be the way it stays for now. Now if I could just master Gears of War.....or beg Paul into buying me the Orange Box for the 360...

HAHAHaaaheee. You're right. It works.

So hey Graeme, I think I really would like to get with you and learn more about the details to the house your family is selling. Can you get me the info, like - yearly taxes, monthly bills, lot size, and age? All that good stuff? David wanted me to ask you. He spelled your name "Gram." I thought he was talking about a grandmother, at first. ^_~ Remember, though, he's an atrociously poor speller.

The best way to get all of that stuff is to call my mother during the day at work or email her: marlenehefner [@t] verizonbusiness.com. I can get you her phone number if you want. I'll answer as many questions as I can here, though.

Yearly taxes: No clue.

Monthly bills: It's electric and gas mixed. I think you'd be good with about $200 a month mixed for basic utilities; maybe a bit more than that. A house is more expensive than an apartment, but any number I could come up with would assume a family of four living there where most of the members didn't really give a shit about lowering their power bills ;)

Lot size: 1 acre.

Age: It was built in the 1970s but was remodeled extensively in the early 1990s and has just had another round of restoration work done on it.

It seems Tycho from Penny Arcade agrees with me that it's finally over:

Quote:
As for Sony, well, let's talk about Sony.

There is nothing I hate more than a foregone conclusion. Beneath every vicious (that is to say, factual) statement I have ever made regarding the company, there has existed the indubitable truth of their ultimate victory. This certainty extends, yea, even unto the company itself, which is why they have done so little to earn your love. The rumble-free controller with built-in batteries, the one that turns off while you're updating your console every other week, that one that inexplicably loses signal from time to time but everyone is too chivalrous to discuss it, the one that is now obsolete because two years ago they tried to save money on something they knew they would have to pay anyway - this "six axis" is the icon of a system coasting on global brand inertia. Announcing features that your competitors have had for coming up on two years does not a riveting presentation make. Exclusive PSN content (like a movie length Ratchet and Clank game, or thatgamecompany's Flower) is still the company's most compelling asset.

There is always that. The only problem with that is if he's going without then so am I.

I love reading Penny Arcade, but I rarely know what in the hell Tycho is talking about. I read his rants as poetry, acknowledging the meaning that must lie behind his well-crafted words, but never quite able to reach a level of true comprehension.
